Hi there, I’m Mia Meiring, a Specialist Wellness Counsellor. I support teenagers and young adults who feel overwhelmed and emotionally stuck, are dealing with mental health issues or unsure of how to put their feelings into words.
I know that for young people, traditional therapeutic spaces can feel a bit too formal or intimidating. The structure, the clinical environment, the age gap – all of it can make it hard to feel comfortable enough to open up. I built this practice because I wished something like it existed when I was growing up: a space held by someone young enough to understand, but qualified enough to help.
As a counsellor in my twenties, I understand the world today’s teens and young adults are navigating – the academic pressure, identity exploration, social expectations, friendship and relationship challenges, family dynamics and the quiet emotional weight that builds when you’re trying to keep it all together. Therapy doesn’t need to look a certain way to work. It needs to be safe enough for honesty and steady enough to hold what’s heavy.
So talk to me from wherever you feel most yourself – curled up in bed, on your couch, outside in the sun or with your pet beside you. You’re allowed to show up messy, sad, anxious or simply needing to vent – camera on or off. Come exactly as you are, I’ll meet you there.
My approach is grounded in collaboration and practical tools to help you regulate, reflect and reconnect with yourself. I’m here to sit with you, help you make sense of what’s going on inside, and walk with you at a pace that feels human and manageable.
